Project Description

Through funding provided by the City of Fort Smith one-cent sales tax devoted to streets and drainage improvements, Hawkins-Weir has annually provided engineering design services for street and drainage projects. The 2014 Street Overlay and Drainage Improvement Project includes the rehabilitation or reconstruction of six (6) different residential streets at a total length of approximately 3,500 feet. The majority of these streets are curb and gutter streets that require removal of existing pavement and installation of underdrain prior to reconstruction of the street. The 2014 CIP Street Overlay Program also included drainage system improvements. This project was combined, for bidding purposes, with other similar street overlay projects in Fort Smith.
