This project consists of the construction of a paved recreational trail within the City Park in Mountainburg, Arkansas. The trail was designed to comply with ADA standards and was funded by the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism through a grant from the Trails for Life program. The project included the design of a pedestrian bridge and a modular block retaining wall. The project provides the citizens of Mountainburg with a safe, all weather trail, and created an additional attraction for the City Park. The recreational trail complements other City Park amenities that include pavilions, public restrooms, tennis courts, a basketball court, playground equipment and dinosaurs (yes, dinosaurs!). Hawkins-Weir Engineers provided preliminary design services, grant funding assistance, project design services, and construction observation and construction management services during the construction phase.
