The Westville Road Improvements Project consisted of the widening and paving of approximately one mile of roadway in Crawford County, Arkansas. The project included clearing and widening of the County road right-of-way, grading, drainage improvements, franchise utility relocations, and the replacement of fencing along the new right-of-way boundaries. The width of the existing gravel road varied from 16 feet to 24 feet. The asphalt pavement section constructed was 20 feet in width and included 2-foot gravel shoulders on each side. Plans and specifications were developed by Hawkins-Weir Engineers (HW) for the purpose of competitive bidding and securing of funding, but the County Judge elected to construct the project with the County’s Road Department. HW also provided on-call construction oversight for the County during construction activities.
