Nelson Hall Homes Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation

Project Description

The Nelson Hall Homes residential housing complex was developed in the 1950s and has been owned, operated, and maintained since then by the Fort Smith Housing Authority, including the sanitary sewer system. The sanitary sewer system consists of approximately 6,000 feet of gravity lines, most of which are clay pipe. Hawkins-Weir prepared the plans and specifications for the replacement of the entire sanitary sewer system to eliminate recurring maintenance problems and potential health hazards caused by sewage overflows and backups. The project was designed and constructed to minimize sewer service interruption to the residents. Hawkins-Weir also provided construction contract administration and inspection services on this project.
